Our story
From a single-car garage to three generations
Youngstown Fence began in 1943, when ironworker Frank Mikitaw Sr. and a partner started Youngstown Fence Builders. A bedroom became the office, a single-car garage became the shop, and the company grew on hard work and a reputation for taking on unusual and difficult jobs.
Today the Mikitaw family still runs the business from our shop on East Indianola Avenue, with the next generation leading us into the future. We're longtime members of the American Fence Association.
“A family-owned business — they value the detail of the work and the concerns of their customers. Work is of quality material and labor, and a warranty comes with purchase.”
— P.M., Youngstown, Ohio
“They were very efficient, and easy to deal with.”
— Chain link fence customer, Ohio
